The world was on high alert, news of the Covid pandemic was coming through thick and fast. Little did we know what the next two years would bring…

*Hold up, let’s rewind a little first…*

When I was a kid, I was always drawing, painting, and using my dad’s old video camera. Me, my brother and my two sisters used to spend hours filming short sketches (look below/swipe to see an embarrassing still from this bygone era!) for my parents to watch. Even in my teen years, I was the friend with the camera. My school friends used to come over for sleepovers, where we would take hundreds of photos, and film silly sketches.

Cut to University – I was studying Media Production and absolutely loving it. Funnily enough, I actually focused more on video while there, rather than photography. It was only when I left University that I got back into photography again – instigated by my little point and shoot camera being left on a bus and stolen, and my boyfriend at the time buying me my very first DSLR for Christmas!

From here, I started working with a local Wedding Photographer, whom I worked with for two years before venturing out on my own, into the big wide wedding world! I’ve worked in the wedding industry for 9 years now, and during this time I’ve gained a wealth of experience, meaning I can adapt to pretty much any lighting situation that’s thrown at me! Let’s face it, when it comes to a wedding, there are no do-overs.

Now, how did I get into the UK Brand Photography world? So, for this we need to go back to the onset of Covid and the first lockdown. The world had shut down, it was the stuff of nightmares, of zombie films, it felt a little apocalyptic! My weddings were all understandably postponed to 2021, and after the initial panic of ‘what on earth am I going to do?!’, I sat down and wrote a list of goals for myself, and what I wanted to achieve during lockdown, rather than sitting and sulking! As well as applying to a number of jobs, I ended up considering what I would really love to photograph, aside from weddings. I came up with Brand Photography for small, independent, kickass business owners!

I love helping others, and I love photographing people – so brand photography for independent businesses is perfect! I’m based in Oxford, though regularly travel to London, Reading, Bristol and Brighton for shoots, but I’m happy to travel anywhere in the UK.
